Meet the Panelists
Urmi Patel, PsyD
She/Her/Hers
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Urmi Patel, PsyD (pronouns: she, her, hers), is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 19 years practicing in the State of California. Dr. Patel provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and has a strong interest in life transitional issues, interpersonal conflicts, eating disorders, grief/loss, and trauma. Dr. Patel is a nationally certified trainer of the Recognizing and Responding to Suicide Risk module developed by the American Association of Suicidology.
Mónica Contreras
She/Her/Ella
Teen Outreach Program Facilitator, Chicanos Por La Causa
Mónica Contreras, BA, (pronouns: she/her/ella) has served with Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) for the past five years as a facilitator in CPLC's Nahui Ollin Wellness Program and a Teen Outreach Program Facilitator, serving an average of 150 youth per school year. She has a background in Mexican American Studies and community organizing, carries certification in Trauma Informed Primary Prevention and Eating Disorder Harm Reduction, among others, and she is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Arizona College of Education.
